Moustraps Race cars

Achievements (by stage):Our car achieved 15/15 in this event
"Brainiac" - Brainstorm solutions for your design. Generate a list of at least 10 ideas/concepts.
  • small car
  • six wheel axle
  • added ruler to mousetrap
  • added ruler to the car to launch the vehicle to accelerate further
  • big rubber wheels on the front and the back wheels are small
  • Launch the vehicle at the 6 inch mark line to make it go faster and further
  • Extra block in middle of wheels
  • wheels made car flip and gain speed
  • wheels had stabilizers
  • car had 3 blocks to stabilize 
 "Visualize It!" - Create a sketch of a design and label key features.



Build:"Build It" - Build your design. Document it with a photo.














"The Price of Glory"-If each part you use costs $1, generate a total cost for your build (This info will be used to generate "cost" data to add a pricing element to the game next year).

"Competitor"-Compete in the 2nd Annual Mousetrap Race car Challenge.Yes, we entered our car into the race and competed

"Long Distance Winner"-Travel the furthest in the race.Yes, our car traveled the furthest 20 tiles

"Going the Mile!"-Travel the furthest or second furthest in the race.Yes, our car also went the furthest and the second

"Led Foot" - Be the team with the fastest time covering the first 24" of the track.Yes, our team had a fastest acceleration out of all the other teams and were the first to get .33 seconds and 24'' mark

"Heavy Foot" - Be the team with the fastest or second fastest time to cover the first 24" of the track.
Our team had the fastest speed which was .33 seconds and we reached 20 tiles

"Feedback" - Collect feedback (at least one each of +, change, ? and !) from yourself or your classmates.
+ Very tightly small car
? Should we use two big wheels on the front or back
! Car has great height, but when it lands it sometimes goes back

Iterate:"Re-work" - Change your build based on your experience with the race/feedback you collected. Document any changes.Our race car had two big wheels and two small wheel, but if I did it again I would change all the wheels for smaller ones 

"Game Changer" - Develop a new rule or change to the game that you feel would make the event better. Explain your concept.

"Name it" - Invent a name for an achievement that you think is better than what we have currently."Just build it"

Clean Up:"Leave It Cleaner Than You Found It" - Did you leave your workspace cleaner than you found it? Explain.
Yes, we all cooperated and cleaned all the supplies and we actually worked like a good structured team.

Reflection:"Design/Build" - What is a "Design/Build" process? How did your experience with this challenge relate to that? Why might you experience this in a career related to technical innovation?
 The design/build process is techniqucally what your teams decides to do a certain idea, but eventually get a better and new idea and stick with it.

Yes, we can relate because that's what happened inside our team.
Someone can actually experience it by creating anything and changing it later on.
